Eddie Stawinski begins his 16th season as the head coach of the Montclair State volleyball program in 2026.

Stawinski, who enters this year with a record of 280-169, is the program's all-time wins leader, a mark he reached in September 2019. Over the last 11 seasons, Montclair State has registered 210 victories and appeared in four NJAC Championship matches over the last nine seasons, continuing the most successful stretch since the inception of the team in 1989. He reached the 200 win plateau for his career when the Red Hawks topped Stockton in the NJAC Semifinals in 2021.

  • Led MSU to single-season record 26 victories twice in 2016 and 2025.
  • Guided Montclair to a perfect 13-0 record at home in 2016.

Educational-Personal

  • Served as head coach for the men’s program at the University of New Haven and was an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut.
  • Earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Springfield College in 2005 and master’s in Physical Education from Springfield in 2008.
  • Played for Springfield helping the Pride to two Division III national championships.
  • Named a First-Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in 2004 and 2005.
  • Finished second all-time for digs (787) and digs per games (2.56).
  • Played professionally for three seasons with the Caribes de San Sebastian squad in the Puerto Rico Superior League.
